The National Investment Corporation (NIC) was established in 1999 with a primary objective to develop the Breakwater area, strategically aiming to optimize the use of this prime location for both economic and social enrichment. Formulating a comprehensive plan aligned with market needs and the Corporation's financial capacity at the time, the vision commenced with the iconic Marina Mall project. Over time, Marina Mall evolved into the premier shopping destination in Abu Dhabi, offering high-quality retail spaces, distinguished anchor tenants, and an extensive array of renowned brand names. Opening its doors to the public in 2001, Marina Mall garnered positive acclaim from both tenants and shoppers.
